Firstly:

HASH(0x8cd4158)
Why did you even take this quiz? You know perfectly well that you own this site! You know everything inside out and probably help out a lot in support!

You are more than just worthy of your LJ! Go get yourself a permanent account once they are on sale again!

Are you worthy of your LiveJournal.com account?
brought to you by Quizilla
Yup, I had to clean that code up something chronic, it'll work without cleaning but still...

However, you note that Quixilla now has an auto-insert button for MySpace users so they don't need to copy/paste? MySpace is that stupid that an auto insert is needed for some of the more obtuse?

Which does, of course, lead me to this meta of this post:
You see, I have come to the conclusion that Myspace is just the Geocities of this generation... Remember when EVERYONE had a Geocities account for EVERYTHING, from their band or comic to flashing nude pics of themself? It's the SAME THING! And, in a few years, Myspace will be a barren wasteland... The site filled with old pictures of drunken flashing teens, perverted old man penises, bad cosplayers, hopeful American Idols, and free demo MP3s from third-tier bands... And lo, from the rubble will come forth the one serious blogger on the entire site...

"My gods... All the cam whores, media bandits, and bad musicians are gone... I can finally I can finally check my e-mail and keep updating my blog. Wait... What's this?!? Myspace is shutting down for good?!? But... It's not fair! It's not fair! There was finally time! Time for a blogger to finally use this place! Nooooooooo- *DELETED*
I still haven't got a MySpace account, and I suspect I never will. It seems everyone needs one these days, every wannabe new band puts it on their publicity (guys, a .co.uk redirect costs less than £5 per year, get with it) and, well, owned by Rupert Murdoch and "down for maintenence" regularly. People with 10,000 "friends"? Give me a break. Samy remains a hero, but beyond that...

I dislike the way SixApart is taking LJ, but, well, no matter how bad it gets, it'll still be better than MySpace.

Everyone should join the mass exodus and get their own blog.

That'll show 'em.

Um, that's no more "your own blog" than LJ or MySpace. It's hosted and adminned by a company that trying to make money somehow.

If'n you want your own blog, you need your own domain with software installed to run it (movable type and wordpress are good) or use something like blogger to ftp it to source.

Otherwise, they're just different blogging services. I'll stick to LJ for personal stuff, and mix and match the above for everything else.

6 blogs and counting now...

Re: Power to the People!
I just about remember Citizen Smith when it was last repeated on BBC2.

Good useful website too. I admit to giving my posts interesting, but cryptic, titles but then my LJ isn't trying to appeal to an outside audience.

Re: Power to the People!
On the subject of 'aimed at an ouside audience', have a look at the comment below, someone got here via google and thanked me for my post. How weird is that?

It's not really aimed at an exterior audience, if it was I'd switch to a blog host that allows more fiddling (and adverts, might as well), but picking up new LJ-friends is interesting at times...

I was looking around on web when I saw this post as the result of a search. I actually for the hell of it I did a search "livejournal vs myspace". Why? Cause after reading your post I do agree with the geocities reference. I have tried on a limited bases other places even myspace. In addition I have a friend of mine whom started on myspace went to livejournal and now went back and started a myspace account and has both. The jist I get from them is "all the friends" (rolling eyes). Yeah you guessed it I have some issues with it.
Minus anything sixpart is doing I do conisder the old phrase "Is it live or is it memorex?" As for myself livejournal is much closer to live. Before I go on and on and on.
Let me put it this way in my opinion myspace is a Yugo. Livejournal is a Cadillac. I drive a sports car and if I was gonna have anything else a Cadillac.
Your post and opinion is appreciated. Thank You.

Wow, comments from Google searches. That's random, but cool.

I love LJ, don't get me wrong, I just don't like the people that currently own LJ. Still, MySpace is just weird. Ah well.

Essentially, you go with what you want to get out of it. I prefer LJ for personal stuff and ramblings about the 'net and how it works, I prefer blogspot for politics, and my own domain for gaming stuff.

Thanks for the comment I guess; knowing who's randomly turning up and reading is interesting.

Introspection

I'm Mat Bowles, a Devonshire lad displaced to Yorkshire. I'm a part-time analyst, marketer and website manage, although mostly I'm a house-husband.

Wikio - Top BlogsThis is my personal general interest journal where I write about or link to whatever I've fond that amused, intrigued or enraged me at the time. I'm a committed liberal, equalist and atheist, but I really like it when people can demonstrate I'm wrong, and have close friends with whom I completely disagree on some if not all of those points.

Coalition For Choice

There probably ought to be a Creative Commons licence in here somewhere but in the meantime consider this permission to quote me (link) & link to what I write.

If you decide to keep reading, please do say hello, let me know where you found me from, etc. I promise not to bite (well, unless you want me to...)
