Still not shaken my block on writing Actual Real Content^tm, so in an attempt to write something that isn't linkspam, I'll do this. that bastard Duncan tagged me for it anyway, so might as well.

1. The rules of the game get posted on the beginning.
2. Each player answers the rules about himself [or indeed herself].
3. At the end of the post, the player tags five people and posts their names as a link then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they’ve been tagged and asking them to read his [or her] blog. [because if you're not checking your incoming links you're crap and off topic comments are rude].

So, to business:

What I was doing ten years ago:

1998. I was half way through my Access to Higher Education course, grateful my parents were letting me live there rent free so I could afford it, and working part time to pay for fuel, books and snacks. So at this time ten years ago odds are I was in a shop doing actual paid work. On a Sunday.

Five things on my To-Do list today:

1. Get out of bed
2. Go to The Ship for lunch
3. Go to the Red Rooster to for a drink and watch the band
4. Flirt with the pretty barmaid at the Rooster (again)
5. Take the damn dogs for a walk at some point

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

Buy a great big place that we can turn into a pub/nightclub/venue/library and hire people to run it, pay off debts, go on a world tour, give a chunk of cash to the Lib Dems in a trust like Joseph Rowntree, hire people to do all my annoying tasks, set up several friends in businesses then just sit back, enjoy life and read and write what I felt like.

Three of my bad habits:

Five books I’ve recently read:

Right, cheating sort of on the first one as the most recent five books I've read are in a sequence I'm re-reading.
1. The Guards/Ankh Morpork sequence by Terry Pratchett, started with Guards Guards, went back to Moving Pictures, then Men at Arms and Feet of Clay, currently on Jingo. Not as great as I remembered but haven't reread them for ages.

2. The Science of Discworld by Pratchett, Stewart and Cohen, because I'd never got around to it and Jennie told me to. Actually rather good, quite a bit of science I didn't know and even the stuff I did know was well explained, a very good intro to science for those that switched off at school and now regret it.

3. John Stuart Mill: Victorian Firebrand by Richard Reeves. Met the author when he succesfully proposed Mill as greatest ever Liberal at a Liberal History Group event in Brighton. Given he was up against Paddy Ashdown proposing Gladstone and a bunch of others, he walked all over them in an impressive style and, well, Dude! It's a proper book on JS Mill. Bloody good, but very long, nowhere near finished it yet.

4. Doctor Who Target novelisations by various authors, mostly first Doctor stuff, Jennie bought a job lot off eBay awhileback and they're nice and slim so fit in my coat pocket for bus journeys and similar. Currently on The Crusaders.

5. Sinister Dexter: Gunshark Vacation by Dan Abnett and various artists. Dan Abnett rules when it comes to pulpy SF, and Sinister Dexter were a great addition to 2000ad. Bought it for Jennie at Xmas, very cool to reread the earliest stuff.
